Violin neck reset

Repair to a Wagner and George violin. A new neck block is fitted and the neck angle is reset.

This violin is labeled Wagner and George (1915). The instrument was unable to be set up correctly. The strings were too high above the fingerboard in the upper registers and difficult to play. A new neck block brought the strings and fingerboard into proper registration with a standard height bridge. This repair was completed in Oct. 2019.

Previously this instrument had been on the bench to repair several cracks in the top and replace the bass bar. At that time the top was flexible, like an accordion when removed from the body. New cracks were repaired and some of the older repairs which had not held up well were removed and replaced.
